Finally an adventure! Today we had an early start and got on our big new pink bus to head to Cochin. It was a lengthy two hour drive there and when we arrived we were surprised to find out that we were taking a boat on the Arabian sea to another island. It was about 30 minutes until we arrived at the island. When we got off the boat we were all more than thrilled to see the items we had been waiting to buy for our friends and family. Trinkets galore! We had to stifle our excitement though because lunch is always first. After lunch we were set lose among one street of many stores. We were greeted so kindly by the salespeople, each time I went into a store they would inform me that my friend with the big hair (Rachael) had just left or that he or she had just bought what I was interested in. They knew we were a traveling pack ready to buy everything. Shopping in India is so cheap and we even did a little haggling to get just what we wanted. At 3:45 we all boarded the boat, shopping bags in hand and journeyed to another island. This island was structured more like a boardwalk. As we walked along we got to peer out to the sea where we saw chinese fishing nets which were amazing structures. We also went into a Catholic church where some of us made donations. Once again we were set loose, but this time for a good 3 hours. There was good shopping, fresh coconut water, and musicians everywhere. The salespeople there were not as keen on our haggling but the skilled of us got the job done :). It was a long drive home late at night but it was completely worth it. All of us had so much fun and now have our Indian souvenirs. Off to bed!
